Preview: Yes Lee Da Hae is back! Finally, a good one from her this time. This story is about the humbler and nicer twin sister trying to solve the mystery of why her snobbish flight attendant twin got in trouble and now lying at the hospital in coma. So she tries to work and pretend as a flight attendant and meet a very picky pilot. “Funny drama with great and good-looking actors! Can’t wait for the next episodes!”
Summary: Jang Yoon Ha is a chaebol trying to find what she really likes so she took a job in a supermarket and blended well with the common people. She found a good friend in Ji Yi who worked with her. Soon these two ladies will find love with men having opposite backgrounds as theirs.
Likes: The classic! Brings me back memories of BOF. Just this time both genders are rich and their partners, the opposite.
The cast! Aren’t they all towering! It’s not realistic but isn’t it good to see great-looking leads like these.
UEE looks great paired with Sung Joon!
Park Hyun Shik is a bankable chaebol star. He was great portraying Chang Soo. Could right away give Gu Jun Pyo a run for his money. Paired with someone bubbly, poor but with a skilled heart, Ji Yi; this love team was an instant hit!
I love the story of the scorpion and the frog! Let’s both die together in love!
The bromance of Joon Ki and Chang Soo! Are there still friendships like that left?
The mum characters that I like are…
Yoon Ha’s mum – she was a crumbling fierceness but remained classy.
Joon Ki’s mum – so sweet and understanding. The mum you want to have.
Chang Soo’s mum – trying to be a tyrant mum but ended up giving in to her son’s wish. Yay, chaebol mum accepting our poor girl Ji Yi.
I love the scene… Chang Soo’s mum changing her heart and trying to convince Ji Yi to date her son. I thought it was the cutest!
Of course I love the ending and was looking forward to the epilogue. Glad they granted my wish. Everyone’s happy and in love :).
Dislikes: I just didn’t feel the chemistry between UEE and Sung Joon. It’s true they look great together but there was no spark between these 2.
I didn’t really grasp the issues between Yoon Ha’s siblings. The disappearance of the brother and his fight with the older sister.
The bitter reality between Yoon Ha’s parents. Unrepairable relationship!
Summary: Seo Beom, a bright, young student from a poor family got impregnated by her equally young boyfriend Han In Sang whose background she didn’t even know. She planned on raising the child alone until Han In Sang found out and right away wanted to take the responsibility. Seo Beom found herself suddenly introduced to a very powerful and rich family, very different from her own.
Likes: It’s a very well-written script. What’s really impressive is to come up with something almost surreal but at the same time has that realistic feel. Anyone can easily imagine or even relate to the situation, that’s how realistic it was.
They paid so much attention to details. The houses of both families… This is how rich this family is and this is how the other family is struggling. The houses have characters that match those families living in them. It’s that kind of detail. And not to mention the wardrobe, if you pay attention to these, it can’t be missed.
I love the atmosphere. Almost silent. Not much music in the background. It makes the conversations more realistic, as if you’re just observing people talking.
I’ve got to give credit to the director and / or the producers for making everyone look like very good actors. Everyone came out very natural!
And talking about actors, Yoo Joon Sang along with Yoo Ho Jung are just great. I think they totally nailed their characters. I liked seeing Lee Joon once again. He was cute and adorable in this drama. Go Ah Sung is one of those promising young actresses, she was great! Love to see her again in another drama.
The rest of the actors and their characters were all awesome. Everyone was noteworthy!
The politics in this drama is awesome! I thought I would only see that in Sageuks. Oh lots of manipulations, all those thread pullings were so entertaining.
And of course it was funny! It’s a black comedy afterall. Every episode has always its funny moment and always accompanied by that funny music. You’ll know what I mean when you watch it :).
Dislikes: The consistency of keeping it simple left me wanting more on the ending. I know it started like that, it went on for 30 episodes like that but I was waiting for a bomb ending. Oh well I can’t have everything, can I?
Summary: After the tragic loss of his parents, a young Ki Ha Myung decided to live by another name Choi Dal Po after being adopted by the person who saved him from the waters. He then met his foster parent’s granddaughter who happened to be the daughter of the reporter who framed his family. Later on, he became a news reporter himself to avenge his family.
Likes: Interesting to see what’s going on behind all the news we can see on TV, what’s left of the truth after all the manipulation. News is a powerful medium, it should be handled with care and responsibility. This is a drama which sheds light and understanding of the media, what should be taken seriously and what should be ignored.
It’s a great script by the same scriptwriter who did “I Hear Your Voice”.
I love the chemistry between Park Shin Hye and Lee Jong Suk, better that Park Shin Hye being paired with Lee Min Ho!
Lee Jong Suk fits the role perfectly with his very “sincere” looks. Not much of a fun of his looks but for the role,
he was perfect.
Love the first kissing scene! Background looks cold but the two made it looked really cozy :). Though I think their lips must have gotten frozen together :).
Other special characters that I really like are…
Song Cha Ok – mother of Choi In Ha and news anchor of MSC. She was ruthless but can’t deny the elegance of this lady. She always looked and appeared perfect.
Choi Gong Pil – foster father of Choi Dal Po and grandfather of Choi In Ha. Super funny and loving, it’s easy to undertstand why it’s hard to leave him.
Park Ro Sa – the Chairman! She was the villain character that made this show so interesting. The actress is always to watch for. She always give justice to her characters.
Cameo by Yoon Sang Hyun as lawyer Cha Gwan Woo! Knowing this drama was written by “I Hear My Voice” scriptwriter, making it a parallel story.
I love the ending. It shows what happened later to the most important characters. Definitely a good closure.
Dislikes: It became draggy and melodramatic somewhere between 14th to 18th epeisodes. I got bored. It was hard to finish even just 1 episode. I know they all can cry but there were times when it was just too much crying.
Summary: Ki Tae, a successful beauty surgeon was pressured to get himself a wife otherwise his mum would sell off his beloved flat where he currently lives as a bachelor. He was tempted to ask Jang Mi, who just got dumped by her ex-boyfriend, to pretend to be his girlfriend. In order to test the sincerity of their relationship, Ki Tae’s mum ask the 2 to get married.
Genre: Romantic Comedy, Family
Stars: Yun Woo Jin as Gong Ki Tae
Han Groo as Joo Jang Mi
Jung Jin Woon as Han Yeo Reum
Han Sun Hwa as Kang Se Ah
Huh Jung Min as Lee Hoon Dong
Yoon So Hee as Nam Hyun Hee
Likes: A fun, light-hearted drama. It was good to watch it with a heavy drama on the side.
Ki Tae and Jang Mi’s characters together is hard for me to imagine in reality but it’s good to see it at least happening on screen.
Kim Hae Sook did it again by acting as a potential evil mother-in-law turned nice. She’s always great!
2AM in the house in the person of Jung Jin Woon! Still some work on the acting but what a prety face!
It ended happily. Specially, happy for Ki Tae’s mother to finally dump that ass of a father.
Dislikes: Yun Woo Jin as lead is still weak. He got upstaged by Jung Jin Woon (by looks).
Joo Jang Mi character was a bit annoying.
The story though fun was very common.
Summary: The story of a blind girl who gained back her eyesight but lost her first love. After 12 years, he was back and she was in love with him again but dark secrets would stop them from being together.
Genre: Romance, Melodrama, Medical, Family
Stars: Lee Sang Yoon as as Park Dong Joo
Koo Hye Sun as Yoon Soo Wan
Kim Ji Suk as Kang Ji Woon
Jung Jin Young as Yoon Jae Bum
Jung Ae Ri as Oh Young Ji
Seung Ri as Teddy Seo
Likes: If you like a good cry then this drama is for you. It’s definitely one of the best melodrama I’ve watched so far. The story was sad, no maybe even tragic and that was well-conveyed to the audience. Plus Koo Hye Sun’s crying was always convincing, you just want to cry with her. Lee Sang Yoon, aside from his admirable looks (height, very proportional body and a handsome face with a dimple) is really great in crying too. These 2 leads were convincingly good on being sad :).
I thought this drama was getting draggy but I think it’s actually made that way. Everything was so detailed, from the prologue (2 episodes with the young Dong Joo and Soo Wan and these youngs characters were from time to time appearing throughout the drama), the main story and to the epilogue which was 1.5 episode long. As if writers explained in detail what pain and heartache really are and they would want you to understand that.
The “what if story”! As I’ve said it was too detailed they even show what would happen if … All happy and my favorite is of course the wedding scene!
I love the characters of the 2 leads (so as the actors). It’s good that they got great young actors who are comparable (to the main leads) to portray the young Dong Joo and Soo Wan. Young Soo Wan especially looks like young Koo Hye Sun.
As for the other guy, Kim Ji Suk looks great here. He definitely gave Lee Sang Yoon a good competition. Hm, 2 great guys competing for our good old Jan Di, huh!
The presence of Seungri! It’s always fantastic baby! He was definitely the best comical relief in this drama.
It’s good to see another island getting featured. A good break from our favorite Jeju.
Not necessary but I’d like to mention I really like Soo Wan’s lovely house! From the story, it’s understandable why she doesn’t like to go back. Too many sad memories.
Love the OST specially the “run run running to you” song :). Couldn’t help but sang-a-long everytime it was played.
Dislikes: The ending. I would like it just a little bit different.
Likes: It’s unexpectedly good. This is my Cheongdamdong Alice of 2013! It has a good story line with unexpected twists! I thought it was just one of these cute dramas, more visuals than story but no I was wrong. This has both!
Talking of visuals, this drama is indeed packed with pretty faces! The perfect face of Jang Geun Suk, the very cute IU, the handsome (with sexy voice) Lee Jang Woo and the gorgeous doll Han Chae Young!
I like the 10 characters of women that our pretty man Dokgo Ma Te has to conquer. I didn’t expect the last 3 specially the last one. It makes every episode interesting!
The ending is good. A closure to every important characters’ story without overdoing it.
I love David Choi! It was always heartbreaking to see him getting rejected so I’m glad he might end up with a glamping fanatic in the end.
Best acting award of course goes to the iron lady, MG queen, Na Hong Ran. I love her! She was just great!
Gigolo image suits JGS very well!
Oh how I missed JGS long hair, the one he sported in the 1st episodes. So pretty!
Dislikes: Very little chemistry between JGS and IU. Sweet moments didn’t make me giddy much.
It was odd to see JGS cry in the last episode. It looked very forced. Sorry.
Heavily advertised Ferrino!
Likes: It’s a new genre for me in kdrama world but since I used to watch Grey’s Anatomy before so I kind of expected similar dramatic and thrilling stories every episode. Yes I was right and these ones were also packed with great stories!
Very well chosen cast! Everyone was natural in their acting!
-Joo Won has improved a lot since Bridal Mask. Excellent portraying of an autistic character!
-Moon Chae Won is a natural. The strong, brilliant Cha Yoon Seo fits her well!
-Joo Sang Wook is sooo handsome! And his character makes him more handsome!!!
-Kim Min Seo is always consistent with her roles. Her character as Chae Kyung has great chemistry with Kim Do Han.
I like how the main characters developed slowly throughout the drama. Park Si On’s character development was remarkable. I also like the Chief of Pediatric who in the beginning was irritating but he turned out being likeable in the end.
My favorite patients were the puppy girl and In Hye. These 2 girls were great in acting and I love their stories and the ending.
Love couples in the hospital! I love the head and chubby nurse, they were funny – a comical relief in a serious hospital drama.
The ending was good and realistic. I love Park Si On’s speech after being accepted in the hospital as a full-pledged doctor with the closing “Thank you for loving me”. So touching!
And the epilogue! It was funny having Park Ki Woong (cameo) there. Oh I’m pretty sure they didn’t make fun of Bridal Mask ;).
Dislikes: Though the drama was packed with good stories, characters and actors, it’s still a melodrama. Lots of crying. I can’t stand watching 2 episodes in a row! Took me almost a month to finish it!
Too much shouting! I’m just wondering if it’s really like that in Korea. Seniors shouting at their juniors even in a hospital environment.
