Preview: Park Jin Kyum is a police detective finding out about people traveling from the future through a place called Alice. The main purpose of Alice is to provide healing for clients in the future who had some bad experiences in the past. So they get to travel back to fix it. While investigating, Park Jin Kyum meets a woman who totally looks like his dead mom. “Amazing action! Fast-paced. Thrilling. Intriguing. And it’s got Joo Won in it!”
Summary: Ma Dong Chan, a successful and handsome variety show producer goes overboard with his next project and that he himself will get into a freezing chamber to be frozen for 24 hours then he will get thawed and come back alive. The experiment should be a scientific breakthrough that will also benefit his career. He has to convince Go Mi Ran, a part-timer, to be his female counterpart in this freezing experiment. However, something went wrong and the two of them get thawed after 20 years.
Likes: Cryonics, an interesting topic! Makes you think what if this actually is possible? I like it that the writer explored not just the positive effects but also the negative consequences when someone gets frozen for a very long time. Is it even possible to catch up with the trends and lifestyles when one becomes kind of obsolete. In this drama, they were easy with the top characters catching up pretty quickly but well yeah, it’s a kdrama afterall. That’s what we love about it, right?
I like our top leads! Of course I know Ji Chang Wook. I’ve been waiting for his comeback drama since his military discharge so an open-arms welcome to mah man. As usual, very handsome and good in his craft. I like his character, Ma Dong Chan, a talented director-producer who does things his way but I fell in love with him when he broke down when he almost lost the girl he loved. I think Ji Chang Wook did so well portraying all those sides. Won Jin Ah, on the other hand, was a newbie in my eyes. First time to see her in a drama and I would say she’s a great actress. Petite and pretty and quite natural in acting. Her chemistry with Ji Chang Wook was awesome!
Kissing scenes! I love the first kiss as it came as a surprise. Our 2 leads, as expected were professionals to deliver such a natural outcome. How about the shower kiss? Well, it was fun to watch, lol! See for yourself! The fact that the top leads had a top chemistry, it would follow that their kissing scenes would turned out great.
Supporting character, Na Ha Young. They did a great job choosing the actors to play the young and the old Na Ha Young. The two actresses are very much alike and both are good in acting. But I was just impressed a lot by Yoon Se Ah. She’s a great actress I know but in this drama she looked awesome! The hair, the makeup, the outfits, they all looked great on her!
It was one not-so-serious drama and I like it like that. Although there was some heavy drama in the end, it was mostly light and funny. Also, putting closures on sub stories and characters was a great plus. I like a lot of supporting characters and their stories in this drama and they all deserved that closure.
I’m a big fan of Got7 and was surprised to see Jin Young in a cameo role!
Ending. It was quite draggy towards the end but glad they came up with that freezing-again twist in the finale. A bit of drama but all good! It was a great show!
Dislikes: Never liked the villain. I thought he was trying too hard to be bad.
Lots of ad placement. Was that Fitbit? Longines was also there. But oh well, we need sponsors.
Summary: Nam Shin 3 is a very advanced robot created by the brilliant scientist Dr. Oh to replace her son the real Nam Shin whose been separated from her since he was young. When Nam Shin falls into coma, Nam Shin 3 has to replace him to act on his behalf as the director of the company the real Nam Shin will have to inherit. Nam Shin 3 is doing fantastic in his job and he even gets close to the lady bodyguard, Kang So Bong.
Likes: I never expected this futuristic drama will turn out so good! First impression was… okay, big budget with all the explosions and actions in the first few episodes. But as it progressed, I was starting to think it was getting more exciting. In fact very exciting that it surpassed What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim which I was watching in parallel.
What do I like most? Thestory is great although at first I wasn’t sure it will focus on the human Nam Shin or the robot. When I was kind of certain about the main character, my curiousity increased on how they will pull off a good ending. And I’m glad they did!
I like the positive introduction of AI to humans. Not the usual “robots taking over the human world”. Well, this is kdrama afterall :)! If all robots will be as good-looking, gentle (in most occasions), intelligent, diligent and very human-like and I think the future is bright! I won’t say no to another Seo Kang Joon robot look-alike!
The Cast is brilliant! Everyone did a great job in their roles but I think my praises will go mostly to these 4 people…
Seo Kang Joon as Nam Shin and Nam Shin 3 – applause to this guy for making it to my crush list. Well, it’s already a long list but he’s somewhere on the top right now! He fairly deserves it as he was brilliant in this double role! Seo Kang Joon proves that he’s not just a pretty face like any current or former kpop idols, he’s a great actor as well. I’m impressed of this handsome young man! His looks on the other hand is flawless! Well, really just like a robot! I love both roles and I think Seo Kang Jooon did so well as the arrogant, hot-tempered, rebellious and handsome human Nam Shin, as well as the gentle, smiling, thoughtful, strong, hero-like and perfectly handsome Nam Shin 3! Simply excellent performance in these two contrasting characters!
Gong Seung Yun as Kang So Bong – her role came out very annoying in the beginning but in the later episodes she proved to be well-deserving of the top lead post. Gong Seung Yun was perfect for this role, I can’t imagine any other actress doing this. I love her looks… sturdy but sexy with a beautiful face. I also love how she talked and pronounced words. She was lovable in the drama that even robots fell for her :). Most importantly, her chemistry with Seo Kang Joon was awesome!
Lee Joon Hyuk as Ji Young Hoon – he was the right hand of Nam Shin, the Hyung in this drama! Although, it was a supporting role, it’s hard not to notice him. His presence is dominating, maybe because of his handsome face or his acting or maybe both.
Yoo Oh Sung as Seo Jong Gil – the annoying almost-father-in-law and CEO of the company who wanted to take over everything! Yeah this guy. He was so annoyingly good! Always eavesdropping on important conversations! Such a bully really. If he made me annoyed, it just proved he’s a good actor, that there is no doubt.
Cheesy scenes and dialogues. What are my favourites?
When Kang So Bong heard her own heart beating so loud and fast, she thought it was Nam Shin 3 but then he said, “I have no heart.” 🙂
Nam Shin 3 hugs everyone who was crying ! *Love*
The wink reflex when someone is lying. It was so cute especially when he says, “Koejitmal!” 😉 .
When Nam Shin 3 tried to understand what Love is and he pulls out the dictionary definition: “A chemical process!”
Wrist-grabbed by a jealous robot. Yay!
The first kiss! When Nam Shin 3 relied on the net on how to say NO to a girl. Well, grab another girl and kiss her 🙂 .
The Ending. I was really hoping they won’t mess up the ending and I’m glad they didn’t resulting to me giving a high rating for this one. For a moment, I thought they would settle with the human Nam Shin but when Nam Shin 3′ s identity was finally revealed, yay future is brighter :-). But then unfortunate things happen and my favourite Nam Shin 3 got shot a number of times (I love that scene! Reminds of Day6 Shoot Me video), sank in the water and took forever to have him repaired or was he not? Watch the drama if you haven’t ;-). The very ending was so *LOVE* !
Dislikes: Some characters in the beginning were just so unreasonably annoying. A few holes in the story but can be ignored.
Summary: When the robot Aji 3 wasn’t at all ready to do its job and its creators desperately needed to deliver it to the new owner, they come up with an idea to hire someone who looks like the robot and for the meantime do its function. And that someone is Jo Ji Ah, whose current job is to secure limited edition toys and items for her clients. She has to pretend as the newly finished robot to Kim Min Kyu who happened to be one of her former clients.
Likes: I soooo love this drama for so many cute reasons which will be enumerated later below :). Main thing… it’s the first drama this year that made me sooo happy, excited and in love! If these three reasons are present especially the last one, I normally don’t see any flaw. It’s what everybody calls, “blinded by love”, lol!
Yes, I love everything!!! From the…
Top Leads – the chemistry between our 2 top leads is insurmountable. From the start to finish, it was overwhelming! I love Yoo Seung Ho’s acting. He’s not just a pretty face but he knows his craft so well. He’s all emotions and I always got carried away by his acting, haha! I also couldn’t ignore how handsome he was in this drama. Gone are the days when he was all cute. He now turned into a very handsome leading man. As to our girl, Chae Soo Bin, I love her bubbly character here. She never overdid her acting which normally turns out annoying with some. She was a perfect match with Yoo Seung Ho. Just love both of them!
The kissing scenes – the greatest kissing scenes are from those who had a really good chemistry and our top couple had it so expect these scenes to send you to the moon :)! What I love most is the generosity to produce more than two top kissing scenes in one drama. Oh, I enjoyed them all! My favourite, of course, was the kitchen kiss! It was also the longest ;).
The umbrella – it was the most important prop! It was important for him and for her… and later for both. It was part of their love story. This prop made it till the last scene. Can someone tell me where I can buy one?
The heart lamps – not as important as the umbrella and I actually didn’t see how it would replace SMS, emails… but I thought they were really cute and they somehow match the cheesiness of the story :).
The heart books – so corny of Aji 3 but couldn’t help but love it too! This was the heart Aji 3 / Jo Ji Ah made by rearranging the books on the bookshelf so they would look like a big heart. Awww!
My favourite quotes – “This is the perfect moment when you kiss.” – Aji 3 “My heart is itchy, it’s about to sprout!” – Kim Min Kyu. Sooo cheesy but loved them all!
The rest of the cast – everyone was good and funny and I specially loved it that additional love teams were created. It was great seeing the professor finally started noticing Pie. Sun Hye, Ji Ah’s bestfriend was interested with Ssan Ip. Even Ri El showed a probability dating Hyoo Chul.
Sun Hye, the dating expert – I love her! She was funny, an additional icing to the already delicious cake.
The Winter Wonderland – I don’t like cold but I couldn’t help liking Kim Mim Kyu’s place turned into a winter wonderland. The snow-covered garden with those properly-groomed trees and bushes looked so amazingly beautiful and romantic.
Some tiny references – Was Kim Min Kyu’s house, the popular Go Jun Pyo’s house in BOF? And I couldn’t help noticing the W kissing scene on TV!
Epilogue – that “2-year-later” epilogue is a big bonus for a 16-episode drama! I love epilogues, though short but they tell more.
And the ending – well, couldn’t ask for more satisfying ending. It was well-done and most importantly, it made me so happy!
Dislikes: I was so in love, no dislikes or whatsoever, lol!
