Summary: Lee Hyun Soo is an aspiring drama script writer who falls in love with a younger aspiring chef Ohn Jung Sun. They like each other but both want to pursue their careers. Hyun Soo goes on to become a popular writer and Jung Sun finally starts his own restaurant. Five years later, they meet again and fall in love once more and go through a very challenging relationship. Will they overcome it all?
Likes: Well-written and well-researched script. The details from management (Park Jung Woo’s world), the restaurant (Ohn Jung Sun’s world) to the script-writing world of our heroine, Lee Hyun Soo, were very clearly presented. The main characters and roles were having depth because of their very rich background.
Ohn Jung Sun’ World – the restaurant. Cooking was obviously life for this man. He did it with passion and he took pride in it. He was so detailed with everything that it was so inspiring to watch. The restaurant, especially the kitchen, where all the delicious things happened was an oasis for Jung Sun, away from his troubled past.
Lee Hyun Soo’s World – the movie and drama. Hyun Soo’s struggle with people in the industry was very well presented. It definitely not an easy world. That frustration when she was failing and had no power over her own work, most of us surely can relate to that. The entertainment industry can be a really cruel world.
Park Jung Woo’s World – the management. I love how they show how challenging this world could be. Although he was successful and had many connections, and knew how to deal with everything and everyone business-related, he struggled to separate that from a normal life which is naturally capable of a healthy relationship, not always a business deal.
I also love the character development, not just the main leads but even the supporting, smaller roles. It was apparent in the end that everyone changed and matured and was able to accept and let go.
The chemistry was daebak!!! Seo Hyun Jin and Yang Se Jung’s chemistry on screen was absolutely top. It feels like watching 2 real lovers having their romantic moments, quarrels, misunderstandings and whatnots. They were so natural! Are these 2 probably dating? Hm, who knows…
The three main cast…
Seo Hyun Jin as Lee Hyun Soo – I like this girl. She’s not over-acting. Her charisma is awesome! As Lee Hyun Soo, she perfectly nailed it.
Yang Se Jong as Ohn Jung Sun – Where was he hiding all this time. This guy can act! What a talent! He nailed Ohn Jung Sun’s character pretty well.
Kim Jae Wook as Park Jung Woo – Oh my Taepunyim! I bleed for you! Kim Jae Wook, I applaud you for improving a lot! Gone are those days when facial expression was non evident. As Park Jung Woo, you displayed different emotions. You were far from being awkward. You were simply awesome! Yes, I’m ready to watch you in a leading role!!
Just the small stuff…
- The parents’ meeting was so awkward I almost fell off my chair laughing
- The beautiful bridge scene in Yeosu
- Those caramel candies looked so yummy, will make some myself
- Park Shin Hye’s cameo
- I want those lunchboxes
- Flower boys in Good Soup’s kitchen
The Title is endearing. The Temperature of Love. It simply captures the essence of whole drama.
The Ending was just right. I love how everyone gathered for that very special moment. It was so harmonious. And of course, not to forget the 2 other loveteams, Kyung and Hong Ah’s that also reached a sweet conclusion.
