Likes: I loved the different versions of this story made into movie / drama, from the “Dangerous Liaisons” with its impressive Rococo setting to the Holywood’s carefree and chaotic student life in “Cruel Intentions”. I was hoping to get my korean version of it in this drama and yes, I wasn’t disappointed. Since it’s the kdrama version, it wasn’t as tragic compared to its predecessors. The story: I will always love and never get tired of it. It never gets old, it’s like Boys Over Flower all over again for me. Will always watch a new version, lol!
There were some notable twists that adds curiosity to a simple romantic story. I also love the entertwined lives of each character in the drama. It was fun trying to solve all the puzzles.
The cast is awesome, so talented and very promising. Although I think everyone was good in this drama, I would focus on the main young cast which consist of…
Woo Do Hwan as Kwon Shi Hyun – Whoooah, that face! He looks so handsome and my super crush right now :). But can he act? An absolute YES! I was very impressed actually. He did so well portraying KWH, the cool, rich, handsome heir but behind the shiny facade, a lonely and sad young soul. I loved his voice, sooo sexy. The way he says “Yepeo” (pretty) is sooo adorable, it always felt like it was addressed to me, lol! And dang this guy can cry, so naturally! You’ll feel like crying with him all the time.
Joy as Eun Tae Hee – The character wasn’t not as fierce as I hoped for. There were times when she was super clingy that it was so annoying to watch. But Joy as a kpopstar is so cute and sweet, it’s hard to ignore her. Eun Tae Hee’s character turned out to be the two earlier mentioned plus genuine and independent. As a package, she deserved all of Kwon Shi Hyun’s attention.
Moon Ga Young as Choi Soo Ji – I love her! She’s not just a pretty face but a really good actress. She did Choi Soo Ji with ease, it was very pleasing to watch. The bratty, bitchy, princess-like character with a compassionate tinge and a love in music was the personality See Jo fell in love with.
Kim Min Jae as Lee Se Joo – at first I really pity this guy. It’s not that he’s not cool and handsome, he actually was but it was so sad to watch him only having eyes on Soo Ji who was into his bestfriend. Lee See Joo’s one sided-loving felt so real, you just wanna hug him. But hey, he wasn’t hopeless in the end!
I quite enjoyed the OST! Specially the intrumental ones!
I kind of miss drama that integrates cherry blossoms as part of the story. Glad that I have it back in this one. So shall we try catching a falling cherry blossom petals now? Or next spring perhaps? We shouldn’t lose hope eh.
The ending, it so kdrama kind of ending and I love it! Of course, of course, it could have been earlier than 5 years but well, Kwon Shi Hyun has to come back extra dashing as he did. But Soo Ji and See Jo’s ending became my favourite. See Joo from all that he did, he at least deserved a happy closure. It was good to see other characters and their relationships got their deserving closures as well.
Dislikes: Well, there was that scene when Tae Hee got so drunk, then started calling everyone Kwon Shi Hyun, got so clingy when he arrived… uhh couldn’t stand it! I know it’s a drama but for real, no guy won’t go back to you if you behave like that lol!
