Likes: A glimpse at the glittering world of the rich and its ugly facet. That makes the peasants (like me) curious as hell 😄. Oh well, it was a very entertaining show. As I’ve said, glitters… the expensive cars, luxurious pads and houses, fashionable outfits and accessories, adrenaline-filled hobbies, exclusive parties! Well done for satisfying our eyes! However, behind all the glitters is a big void and loneliness. What a contrast!

REX. I love how they presented this top dating agency. From the choice of the building, the classy interiors of the offices and lobby, the well-trained managers and last but not least, the grand matchmaker CEO Choi Yoo Sun. Oh I loved how she walked – she had a very commanding presence. And how she talked – always calm but never lost an argument, and always had the last say. Her scheming plans were impressive. As she would say, she is a businesswoman. Her ultimate goal is to gain money because that’s where power lies. How about you? What is it that you want? Rex was definitely her! Here, hoping for a season 2!

Quote from grand matchmaker. “Don’t look for the criteria you desire from the person you love. Instead, look for the love in a person who already fits that criteria. That is the wisest choice!”

The masquerade party. I would say Jin Yoo Hui was the shining star here. She was so determined to bring home the crown 😂. Dress in sexy red gown, she definitely lit up the party. Surprisingly, the masks really made each one unrecognizable, that was so exciting!

Wicked OST. This is another favourite in the show, sooo love the song, WICKED! And I love how it would play during very important scenes. Overall, the tracks were quite good, well-suited with the drama.

The Cast…

Kim Hee Sun as Seo Hye Sung – That professor look always suits her well, just like in Alice. Seo Hye Sung definitely didn’t have it easy. She lost her husband because of another woman. She had her hands full raising her daughter alone and at the same time trying to seek revenge for what she’d lost. The character is tenacious and I think Kim Hee Sun did a great job in portraying her.

Lee Hyun Wook as Lee Hyung Ju – that rich image suits this guy perfectly. He looks great, smart and has got money. I love him in Mine, same rich character but here, he gets his happy ending.

Jung Yoo Jin as Jin Yoo Hui – sooo surprised by her transformation! She is finally showing her hidden talent! Quite brilliant as Jin Yoo Hui, the way she walked and talked were impressive. So confident in front of the camera now. I remember her other shows, she was always unsure. I’m glad she’s finally unleashing that talent.

Park Hoon as Cha Seok Jin – handsome guy and I think this year he’ll get my Second Lead Syndrome Award 😊.

Don’t bite off more than what you can chew. This applies to us all always. The downfall of Jin Yoo Hui was her greed. She was almost there, but then she still tried to kill Hye Sung’s daughter. What a mistake! Because of that, her grand plans crumbled.

Ending. I’m not sure about the wedding, but was glad to see a hint of season 2. I guess this was all about REX anyway. So why not? I was curious who that young guy was in the very ending. It’s Park Ji-Hoon! He starred in Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency and he was a matchmaker as well.

Impressive 8-episode show. Very entertaining! I was so hooked. Concise but suspense-filled. Loved the witty dialogues too!

Dislikes: I just find Kim Hee Sun too old for Lee Hyun Wook! And they could have worked more on the romance between the two to at least justify that wedding in the end. Yes, I think the romance was very lacking.

My Rating: 8.5 stars! (10 as highest)

Link: Eat, Love, Kill

Link: Eat, Love, Kill KdramaSummary: Eun Gye Hoon is a respectable chef who used to share his emotion with his twin sister. That connection ended when the sister went missing and believed to have died. Eun Gye Hoon meets a girl called No Da Hyun whose feelings and emotions he could also feel just like his sister.

Link: Eat, Love, Kill Trailer

Genre: Fantasy, Romance, Melodrama, Food, Psychological, Mystery, Serial Killer
Episodes: 16
Stars: Yeo Jin Goo as Eun Gye Hoon
Moon Ga Young as No Da Hyun

Likes: It’s an interesting combination of fantasy, romance, food and mystery drama. I like the storytelling, it uniquely blends all this genre together.

Fantasy. I guess feeling someone’s emotions fall into this category. Eun Gye Hoon feeling Noh Da Hyun’s emotions always left that surprised reaction on his face. It must have been a truly daunting experience feeling someone’s fear and anxiety. However, I like the connection and the true reason why they had that link.

Romance. I find these two cute. The chemistry wasn’t that strong but they just look great together. It’s was nice to see that although the characters were ill fated, the attraction was strong enough to stay and protect each other until the end.

Food. I thought I won’t see that restaurant open at all! Anyway, all the testing menu and food Eun Gye Hoon prepared for Noh Da Hyun, especially when she could not sleep, were all mouth-watering! We all wish to have a partner who can cook, don’t we?

Mystery. It was nerve-racking as everyone was a potential suspect. But love how it came out. The real culprit was really that someone you least expected. The title of the episode was called “An Ordinary Evil”, revealing the killer’s identity.

Episode Titles. And yeah since we’re just at it, all episode titles were very well-thought of and truly represents the happenings of every episode. Link, The Connection; Lies; Confession; Cheesy, But Destiny; The Child Returns; Fluttering; Poke; The Children of Jiwhadong, Don’t Turn Around; The Red Gate; The Witness, The Premonition; Mom’s Secret; An Ordinary Evil; The Link and Eat, Love, Kill.

Scary and Funny. I like how they managed to make this show scary and at the same time funny. The fact that there’s someone stalking you and the killer of long time ago is still out there, that’s pretty scary. But we’ve got scenes like the mom and the grandma carrying tools around ready to hit someone when their daughter / granddaughter is in danger. Scenes like Eun Gye Hoon’s friend coming inside the restaurant on inconvenient situations. Or both scary and funny like Lee Jin Geun being put in the fridge, then able to escape only to be hit by a taxi. He survived after that and still able to blackmail the taxi driver.

The Top Leads.

Yeo Jin Goo as Eun Gye Hoon – I love Yeo Jin Goo! I’ve watched this guy grow up in kdramas. He is consistently a brilliant actor. As Eun Gye Hoon, I could feel his pain, guilt and loneliness. His face was painted like that. Then he fell in love, and love was there trying hard to thrive in the midst of pain, guilt and loneliness. Seeing the different emotions pouring out of him, even not his own, was brilliant. This guy can cry, even without trying hard. He’s so natural!

Moon Ga Young as No Da Hyun – such a pretty face! I don’t doubt her talent in acting, she’s quite good too. Her tears were just flowing naturally all the time. Not much effort there. I just don’t feel a strong chemistry between her and Yeo Jin Goo.

Ending. I love how all story lines had reached a decent closure. I especially like the happy endings. There were also background stories which shed light to a lot of things like the story of Noh Da Hyun’s grandma. As for our lead characters, it just shows that not all grim pasts can darken the path to happiness and love.

Dislikes: I really don’t understand why Noh Da Hyun kept on walking on dark alleys at night, even after being stalked. That just didn’t make sense!

Chemistry wasn’t that strong.

Kiss Sixth Sense

kiss sixth sense kdramaSummary: Hong Ye Sol has a special ability to see her future once her lips touch someone. One day, she accidentally kisses her boss Cha Min Ho’s lips and she sees their happy future together. She can’t believe it, as she always find her boss as a cold type of guy.

Kiss Sixth Sense Trailer

Genre: Fantasy, Romance, Boss Romance
Episodes: 12
Stars: Yoon Kye Sang as Cha Min Ho
Seo Ji Hye as Hong Ye Sol
Kim Ji Suk as Lee Pil Yo
Lee Joo Yeon as Oh Ji-Young

Likes: I got so hooked in this as the chemistry between the leads was just too goooood to ignore. Also loved the two’s supernatural abilities, Hong Ye Sol, being able to see the future and Cha Min Ho’s extra hearing ability. Combined with an office romance atmosphere, I thought the story was one of a kind, exciting and definitely kept me entertained all throughout.

Our sexy top leads

Yoon Kye Sang as Cha Min Ho – I’ve watched one of his older shows, gosh that was too long ago. He still looked young then but already had a crush on him. It must be those eyes 😍. He’d aged definitely but still really handsome! I loved his character here, Cha Min Ho, I thought it suited him so well. Very OC, cold, too good in his job, tough boss but then he’s got that undeniable charm.

Seo Ji Hye as Hong Ye Sol – she’s gorgeous as usual and looked great with Yoon Kye Sang. The character has that haughty feel like Seo Dan in Crash Landing in You who I really adored. Hong Ye Sol though went through a trauma so she wasn’t all that tough, but her connection with Cha Min Ho made her see the future with a positive light. I love the dependency between these two lead characters, it made the love story more interesting.

Ad World. This gives us a peek on how ads are made. A lot of people are involved before a short ad, which sometimes doesn’t even capture our attention, is finally out there. I personally appreciate a really good ad, but I never thought of how much work it really involved. I like how the show sheds light on the industry.

Intro Music. I always looked forward to this  every week, “I see the future…”. It is sooo good and it made Yoon Kye Sang really looked hot in the trailer too. Check it out… Kiss Sixth Sense Intro Song!

Jackson!  If you watch the show then you’ll know who Jackson is 😊. Jackson, sorry darling but you shouldn’t be on the way. We’ll get you fixed later.

Blood Moon. Hah, that almost killed me! Our Min Ho looked like he was transitioning into a werewolf! Why did they give that wrong message?! Anyway, the blood moon was magnificent!

Other loveteams. I thought Hong Ye Sol’s cousin and Cha Min Ho’s doctor’s love team was so cute! I loved how clingy the doctor was, he was adorable! Lee Pil Yo, Hong Ye Sol’s ex got another shot in love, and that’s with the actress Oh Ji-Young, who was after Cha Min Ho all the time. I’m good, looks like happy ending awaits everyone!

12 Episode-Show. It would have ended up boring if they dragged it longer. It was straightforward, as soon as we reached the climax, it was done!

Dislikes: Although, it ended at 12th episode, I have the impression that there was a struggle with the story line on how to end it. That last episode was a bit unimpressive.

My Rating: 8 stars! (10 as highest)

Likes: This drama gives us a peek on how these talent agencies work. It’s interesting how they find talents, groom them and handle them. Moreover, how they clean up after these said talents mess up. It’s a million dollar business and there’s a lot of work to be done!

The Actors. They’re the most obvious people in the industry because they’re the one appearing on films, ads and interviews. They’re the stars! They’re beautiful, shining stars, giving the impression that they’re reachable and having a twinkling happy life, but oftentimes they’re not. Gong Tae Sung, our main character’s story in this drama is like that. Such a big star but lonely! Even having a girlfriend was such a challenge.

The Talent Managers. These people are admirable due to the fact that their job is not the easiest, especially when they’re handling a difficult talent. They might work behind the scene but they do work a lot. They have a wide range of job to do, from the discovering of talent, grooming and handling them.  One needs a lot patience and passion to be a manager of a star. In this drama, I love Kang Yu Sung’s dedication and passion for his work. I think he was the “perfect manager” example. He was like a friend, a parent, and a bodyguard to his talents.

The PR Manager and her Team. This team can get really busy depending on how well-behaved the stars are. They’re the ultimate cleaner. They clean up the mess of stars, may it be scandals, rumours, gossips, and even just honest mistakes. Like the talent managers, they work behind the scene but they do a lot. They do a lot for one goal, and that’s to make their stars shine.

The Starforce Office. I like how they made it have that family and team vibe. Real entertainment office might not be as friendly as that but Starforce was all about working together in harmony. Everyone seemed to get along with each other. I love the camaraderie of the show.

Multiple loveteams. Who’s your favourite?

Oh Han Byul and Gong Tae Sung – They look great together but just lacking chemistry, don’t you think? But I just love how that friendship they have since college blossomed into a real relationship. They were always near yet so far. It took it a long time to get there, but they made it in the end.

Kang Yoo Sung and Park Ho Young – Okay, I love these two. I think this team had the best chemistry. They were always so cute together. But best was when Ho Young made that confession. Lol, Yoo Sung’s face was just priceless!

Jo Ki Ppeum and Do Soo Hyuk – The romance was a bit too late but I like their chemistry. Their personalities were just a match,  a bit stiff but both professional in their line of work.

Yuna and Jae Hyun – the cat and mouse but ended up marrying each other. I love their wedding, it was a great end to the show.

Byun Jung Yeol and Hong Bo In – these two were also so cute! Not so much cheesiness but Byun Jung Yeol (Tae Sung’s driver/manager) is just adorable.

Ending. It was a bit cringy with all our love teams being with each other. But it made it a happy and fun ending. I also like the Jeju setting. Glad kdramas are going back to Jeju once again.

Dislikes: Kim Young Dae wasn’t ready as top lead. He was very lacking. His acting wasn’t at par with Lee Sung Kyung. He’s definitely has the looks and maybe in a couple of years, with more workshops, I’ll be ready to watch him again.

Poor story. Nothing much between the main characters that they had to introduce a couple more love teams to keep it interesting. It was such a struggle to finish this drama.

My Rating: 7.5 stars! (10 as highest)

Again My Life

again-my-life kdramaSummary: Kim Hee Woo is a tough prosecutor who is after a very powerful person. He gets killed, but given another chance to live his life again to fight for justice and go after the same person who caused his death.

Again My Life Trailer

Genre: Fantasy, Crime, Action, Legal
Episodes: 16
Stars: Lee Joon Ki as Kim Hee Woo
Lee Kyung Young as Jo Tae Seob
Kim Ji Eun as Kim Hee Ah
Jung Sang Hoon as Lee Min Soo

Likes: Love this kdrama from beginning to end. It’s like a piece of cake, so good, I wanted to enjoy it slowly. So what made it really great for me?

The mixed genre. I like how its reality got mixed with fantasy. It would have ended it right there, right then at the very first episode, but like our lead, we  were given a chance to see how it’s like to live life again, always being ahead of the game, always winning, but then still making us anxious when things are going wrong. I love Kim Hee Woo’s determination to go through the most difficult path, playing his cards in the game of politics to defeat one person who was on top of them all. Of course, it gave him an upper hand to know what was ahead, but still his path remained challenging and dangerous.

Impressive political drama. The pulling of strings, the strategies, the smart moves, the indefensible attacks, wow, it was like a war, no, in fact, it was a war! The assemblyman Jo Tae Sub had it all, hands down. He was definitely power! Everyone bowed to him. He controlled everything. He could see through people and the future. He was the absolute puppet master! Then, we have our young prosecutor Kim Hee Woo, who started doing what the master had been doing for years. So young and inexperienced, but knowledgeable and definitely knew how to play the game. Such a good fight!

Kim Hee Woo’s greatest strategy. It was I think investing time to befriend and learn from people. That was later on, his source of strength. Those people around him did not just hand him over resources, but they have become his army. They have fought for him. For example, I like his relationships with the old guy who was into real estate, the righteous chief prosecutor he met in his first assignment, the fight and fitness instructor, they have all become his mentors! His friends and acquaintances early on, they have been his great support and have paved his way to get to the top to defeat the ultimate enemy.

Kim Hee Woo’s three ladies. I was so torn between these 3, Kim Hee Ah, the Chunha Group heiress; Kim Han Mi, the pretty journalist; and Kim Kyu-ri, the brave lady prosecutor. Kim Hee Woo had a pretty good chemistry with all of them.

The 2 Powerful Elders. Just love the scenes between Jo Tae Sub and the chairman of Chunha, Kim Gun Young (dad of Kim Hee Ah). These type of people are just above normal, the way they talk, negotiate and even fight. It’s good to see two talented veteran actors handling the job, simply impressive!

Powerful OST.  I so love this song, Till the End and how it always find it’s way playing on the most thrilling scenes. Sooo good! Also check out the rest of Again My Life OST!

The awesome cast. This drama is hands down filled with talented actors, but I would only focus on two, and that’s…

Lee Joon Ki as Kim Hee Woo – Lee Joon Ki never failed to amaze me, he’s always worth the watch. This is another great drama from this guy. As Kim Hee Woo, I love his grit and perseverance to stand against a giant in power. He exuded intelligence (to get through law school and became a prosecutor), charm (to win over a lot of very important people including the ladies),  strength (to fist fight),  courage (to stand against the powerful) and luck (to live his life again).

Lee Kyung Young as Jo Tae Seob – oh my gosh, I love his guy, he’s just brilliant. So perfect choice for the role! I have watched some of his dramas in the past but this is where his acting really shone. As Jo Tae Sub, he was extremely powerful and this power, he worked meticulously for years to attain. Super wise and calculating. Calm and well-spoken. Impenetrable, unreadable, he always does the right move, he was scary, it was hard to win against this guy. And I think Lee Kyung Young was just awesome in the role, hands down.

Death and birth of power. The ending marks Joe Tae Sub’s downfall. Our hero Kim Hee Woo might not have brought him to justice the way he liked it, but the old guy got the punishment that he deserved. Being alone in that house, considered as the heart of power, with no one to assist him, was the death of him. Sad scene which was beautifully done!

And of course the bonus epilogue, the birth of new power, and a lady this time! What did she say as to why Jo Tae Sub didn’t succeed? It’s because he wanted everything, money and power! Whereas her, just wants the money.

Dislikes: Cringy ending with Kim Hee Woo finally marrying Kim Hee Ah and gathering everyone around including the other two ladies who obviously had a liking to him. This part could have been left out.

That stupid mistake Kim Hee Woo did that almost cost the life of his dear friend Park Sang Man.

KAHI ad placement all over the place!

My Rating: 8.5 stars! (10 as highest)

Crazy Love

crazy love kdramaSummary: Noh Go Jin is the top Math instructor and the CEO of GOTOP, a learning institute in Korea. He pretends he has amnesia due to a lot of death threats he had received. His secretary Lee Shin Ah, who has a grudge on Noh Go Jin for being a mean boss, pretends she is his fiancee thinking he doesn’t remember anything.

Crazy Love Trailer

Genre: Romantic Comedy, Boss Romance, Rich Boy Poor Girl, Mystery, Detective, Revenge
Episodes: 16
Stars: Kim Jae Wook as Noh Go Jin
Krystal Jung as Lee Shin Ah
Ha Jun as Oh Se Ki
Yoo In Young as Baek Soo Young

Likes: Something that I really miss when this drama ended was its intro music, Ra ta ta ta! Made me always excited when I would start another exciting episode. Actually, let’s check it out again, here it is Crazy Love Intro!

Boss Romance. I just started this list for the love of all kdramas that involve falling in love with, well usually tough, even bully, but of course handsome or pretty bosses. This is just one example and our lead Kim Jae Wook, lived up to our expectations!

Top Leads with awesome visuals.

Kim Jae Wook as Noh Go Jin – oh my gosh the role was so annoying in the beginning. It was so hard to fall for this conceited character. However, as we advanced to later episodes, there was clearly a development to his character, thank  goodness! Kim Jae Wook did great as Noh Go Jin, despite some awkward scenes. He just looked great on all those suits and extra sexy driving his blue Audi R8. I was definitely sold! His chemistry with Krystal was surprisingly amazing! I just love that kiss he gave her when she was on the ladder, looked very genuine!

Krystal Jung as Lee Shin Ah – Krystal is no doubt a great actor. She’s one of those ex idols who can actually really act. Her sister Tiffany, tried the same route, but sorry she wasn’t as good. Krystal as Lee Shin Ah was a natural. She took the role with ease. When it comes to visuals, Kim Jae Wook and her complemented each other so well. As I’ve mentioned above, their chemistry was quite strong. And yeah, she even sung!

Ha Jun as Oh Se Ki – I love this guy. He always spoke so well and was such a good actor. Oh Se Ki and Noh Go Jin’s brotherly bond in the drama was impressive and convincing, so the two of them drifting apart at some point, made me really sad.

Yoo In Young as Baek Soo Young – I haven’t seen her in a while and it was great seeing this amazingly beautiful face again in kdrama world. Her character here didn’t do her villainous acting capability justice. I had seen better but anyway, just glad to see her back.

Impressive office interiors. There was one thing I really noticed in this drama, the impressive offices! First, I love Noh Go Jin’s office… the white board, the books all over the place, it just suited our genius CEO well! Second, Park Yang Tae’s (Ilpum Edu CEO) more traditional, mature but still stylish. I specifically loved his black door, it was very chic! Lasty, Baek Soo Young’s so pretty, feminine and very stylish office. I just loved how the production paid attention to these details.

Impossible Love. At the start, love between our top leads Noh Go Jin and Lee Shin Ah was really nowhere in sight. The bickering between these two looked sooo convincing. As the show progressed, we were seeing possibilities and chemistry. The story also got more interesting, which unsurprisingly made its rating higher.

Impossible Career. I love how it ended with Lee Shin Ah living the impossible dream she had for a long time. She just didn’t give up becoming a teacher and her hard work paid off in the end. What was also impressive is that she chose another institution to work at, and her boyfriend supported her for that, although he knew he would lose such a talent.

Cherry Blossom Ending. It seems to be a trend but I still like it. It was such a beautiful scene and yeah, I love the rings! The couple also had one of the best wedding photos ever!

Dislikes: Desperate to promote that Kahi beauty stick!

My Rating: 8 stars! (10 as highest)

A Business Proposal

a busines proposal kdramaSummary: Shin Ha Ri works for a food company as a researcher. One day, her life changes when she tries to go on a blind date instead of her close friend, but the guy she dates happens to be Kang Tae Moo, the CEO of the company where she works for.

A Business Proposal Trailer

Genre: Romantic Comedy, Boss Romance, Office, Rich Boy Poor Girl, Chaebol
Episodes: 12
Stars: Ahn Hyo Seop as Kang Tae Moo
Kim Se Jung as Shin Ha Ri
Kim Min Gyu as Cha Sung Hoon
Sul In Ah as Jin Young Seo

Likes: This is a pretty straightforward good romantic comedy. With 12 episodes only, it was able to capture our hearts with its really good-looking top and supporting leads and their strong chemistry. Lots of cliches but they kind of worked on its favour. It was definitely funny, cringy at times, and such a joy to watch on our seemingly never-ending rainy days.

My Girl Vibe. That whole pretending she was someone else brought back memories of My Girl, one of the old kdramas that I really like. It was predictable, like oh yeah, that’s gonna backfire. I knew what was coming, but I still liked it. This never gets old.

The Loveteams. I was already good with our top leads doing well when it comes to chemistry, then comes the supporting loveteam! What a bonus! I love both pairs. They all looked great with each other. And not to forget the awesome pair in Ha Ri’s team, Mr. Gye and the team lead, Yeo Ui-Joo! They were so funny.

Strong chemistry. Our main pair, Kang Tae Moo and Shin Ha Ri’s chemistry was just top. I just loved how Tae Moo would look at her with so much admiration. Their bed scene caused a stir for showing some skin, but really, I didn’t mind 😉. Our hot CEO had some sexy back to show anyway.

Meanwhile, Cha Sung Hoon and Jin Young Seo weren’t lagging behind. These two’s chemistry was also awesome. Our girl appeared to be more aggressive, but yes she could, she was hot and a chaebol!

The Worry Dolls. I just like those dolls. They do help in reality. My son has a worry whale, and whenever something’s bothering him, he would cuddle his worry whale. It’s just cute, how the dolls came out to have the same purpose 😊.

OST is Love. The songs are quite good. Reminds of old drama OSTs. Check out A Business Proposal OST!

The Beautiful Cast

Ahn Hyo Seop as Kang Tae Moo – love all his drama but I think this is the first time he really established an amazing chemistry with his leading lady. That workaholic handsome boss role suited him so well. And I like it best when his character got cocky, so adorable.

Kim Se Jung as Shin Ha Ri – I didn’t warm up to her in the beginning. I thought first she looked older. But Shin Ha Ri’s personality was just likeable and fun. And yeah, she was a great kisser too!

Kim Min Gyu as Cha Sung Hoon – hot body and looked great in glasses too! Love his bromance with Ahn Hyo Seop!

Sul In Ah as Jin Young Seo – she’s cute and bubbly! Jin Young Seo is the type of character everyone wants to be friends with.

How to be a good boyfriend according to our awesome Kang Tae Moo…

1. Show off wealth.
2. Get clingy.
3. Be loyal like a dog.

The Ending. One year later with a proposal under the lovely cherry blossoms, I would take that anytime!

Dislikes: What’s with the tacky grandpa house? I love Kang Tae Moo’s grandpa, but he would have deserved a much better house. Don’t you think?

My Rating: 8.5 stars! (10 as highest)
