A Business Proposal Trailer

Genre: Romantic Comedy, Boss Romance, Office, Rich Boy Poor Girl, Chaebol
Episodes: 12
Stars: Ahn Hyo Seop as Kang Tae Moo
Kim Se Jung as Shin Ha Ri
Kim Min Gyu as Cha Sung Hoon
Sul In Ah as Jin Young Seo

Likes: This is a pretty straightforward good romantic comedy. With 12 episodes only, it was able to capture our hearts with its really good-looking top and supporting leads and their strong chemistry. Lots of cliches but they kind of worked on its favour. It was definitely funny, cringy at times, and such a joy to watch on our seemingly never-ending rainy days.

My Girl Vibe. That whole pretending she was someone else brought back memories of My Girl, one of the old kdramas that I really like. It was predictable, like oh yeah, that’s gonna backfire. I knew what was coming, but I still liked it. This never gets old.

The Loveteams. I was already good with our top leads doing well when it comes to chemistry, then comes the supporting loveteam! What a bonus! I love both pairs. They all looked great with each other. And not to forget the awesome pair in Ha Ri’s team, Mr. Gye and the team lead, Yeo Ui-Joo! They were so funny.

Strong chemistry. Our main pair, Kang Tae Moo and Shin Ha Ri’s chemistry was just top. I just loved how Tae Moo would look at her with so much admiration. Their bed scene caused a stir for showing some skin, but really, I didn’t mind 😉. Our hot CEO had some sexy back to show anyway.

Meanwhile, Cha Sung Hoon and Jin Young Seo weren’t lagging behind. These two’s chemistry was also awesome. Our girl appeared to be more aggressive, but yes she could, she was hot and a chaebol!

The Worry Dolls. I just like those dolls. They do help in reality. My son has a worry whale, and whenever something’s bothering him, he would cuddle his worry whale. It’s just cute, how the dolls came out to have the same purpose 😊.

OST is Love. The songs are quite good. Reminds of old drama OSTs. Check out A Business Proposal OST!

The Beautiful Cast

Ahn Hyo Seop as Kang Tae Moo – love all his drama but I think this is the first time he really established an amazing chemistry with his leading lady. That workaholic handsome boss role suited him so well. And I like it best when his character got cocky, so adorable.

Kim Se Jung as Shin Ha Ri – I didn’t warm up to her in the beginning. I thought first she looked older. But Shin Ha Ri’s personality was just likeable and fun. And yeah, she was a great kisser too!

Kim Min Gyu as Cha Sung Hoon – hot body and looked great in glasses too! Love his bromance with Ahn Hyo Seop!

Sul In Ah as Jin Young Seo – she’s cute and bubbly! Jin Young Seo is the type of character everyone wants to be friends with.

How to be a good boyfriend according to our awesome Kang Tae Moo…

1. Show off wealth.
2. Get clingy.
3. Be loyal like a dog.

The Ending. One year later with a proposal under the lovely cherry blossoms, I would take that anytime!

Dislikes: What’s with the tacky grandpa house? I love Kang Tae Moo’s grandpa, but he would have deserved a much better house. Don’t you think?

My Rating: 8.5 stars! (10 as highest)

Touch Your Heart

touch-your-heart kdramaSummary: Oh Yoon Seo has to save her dying acting career by taking a lawyer role in a drama by a famous scriptwriter so she agrees to the scriptwriter’s condition that she will become a secretary in a law firm to prepare for the role properly. There she meets top lawyer, cold-hearted and slow with women, Kwon Jung Rok who becomes her boss.

Trailer: Touch Your Heart

Genre: Romantic Comedy, Office, Legal, Boss Romance
Episodes: 16
Stars: Lee Dong Wook as Kwon Jung Rok
Yoo In Na as Oh Jin Shim / Oh Yoon Seo
Lee Sang Woo as Kim Se Won
Son Sung Yoon as Yoo Yeo Reum

Likes: How can I not like this drama? It’s romantic comedy and my most anticipated reunion of a power couple from my 2017 best kdrama Goblin. Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na’s top chemistry and their cliffhanging romance in Goblin has finally found its own show and damn YES, they deserve this show.

Yes, the chemistry in this drama is over the top! How can you not giggle when things become lovey-dovey with these two?! I love all the kissing scenes. So scream-worthy!

Lee Dong Wook as Kwon Jung Rok – a bit stiff as a lawyer or let me put it this way… he’s way too handsome for a lawyer :-). Tall and handsome and so good looking in suits. I like the cold personality, slow-witted when it comes to women, a bit awkward with romance… I think those made Lee Dong Wook so cute. I like him here as much as liked him in My Girl.

Yoo In Na as Oh Jin Shim / Oh Yoon Seo – oh my gosh, I just love this girl. Such a great actress! And her actress role here is too perfect for her. Funny, sweet, cute and sexy! And the bad acting was so well acted, I have to give her that :-). I loved the way she giggled and made everything pink. So adorable!

THE COUPLES…

  • Kwon Jung Rok and Oh Jin Shim / Oh Yoon Seo – okay, this one is the top no doubt. The office romance was sooo cute with all those hearty hearty post-its! And the best part was, it had to be a secret! The secret continued when she went back into acting and it was even more exciting. Of course the ups came with the downs but this couple was still the best.
  • Kim Se Won and Yoo Yeo Reum – the romance in the prosecutors’ office! These two were subtle but boy I love the proposal bit!
  • Choi Yoon Hyuk and Dan Moon Hee – ahh our lawyer couple, too opposite but attract! Definitely the best comical relief in this drama.
  • Lee Doo Sub and Yang Eun Ji – the investigator and the secretary. I still wish there’s hope between these two. That unrequitted love of our dear Doo Sub shouldn’t go to waste.

Did someone notice the famous Descendants of the Sun scene? I just thought that it was hilarious with helicopter landing, the wind blowing, the shawl flying away, that moment… that moment, lol! You’re a kdrama fun if you recognize that.

That rich stalker was hot and scary but yes he was hot, lol! But I guess our Kwon Pyeonhosanim was way hotter especially when he approached that hot stalker and told him to “Stay away from my girl!” Oh, who will not fall in love with this damn hot lawyer.

How about dropping the “I love you” followed by a long kiss at a cold side walk on a winter’s night as an amend for that horrible breakup. Yay!!! I was cheering!

But the best actor award goes to Kim Yeong Tae, that guy who was accused of stabbing and killing the husband of a lady neighbour. He was just soooo good! And yes, there were some serious moments in this show too but Kim Yeong Tae moment was the best!

The ending was fabulous! Everyone looked gorgeous, of course, especially the top leads.

Dislikes: My fear always when a drama is too popular, ads become too much! The Chanel and that red ginseng thing were just “in your face ads”. Make it more subtle please!

Conclusion: With so many funny moments, undeniably awesome chemistry and just the right number of episodes, it makes this drama so enjoyable to watch, so I am giving it a…

Romance is a Bonus Book

romance is a bonus book kdramaSummary: A young, handsome chief editor of a big publishing company has some unfinished business with his first love. Now that she’s divorced, broke, starting from the bottom and even living in his house for the time being, will our chief editor has a chance or will he forever be her little brother?

Trailer: Romance is a Bonus Book

Genre: Office, Romance, Noona Romance, Books
Episodes: 16
Stars: Lee Jong Suk as Cha Eun Ho
Lee Na Young as Kang Dan Yi
Jung Yoo Jin as Song Hae Rin
Wi Ha Joon as Ji Seo Joon

Likes: The book topic is quite interesting. We get to learn a bit about editorial, printing, publishing, marketing and all that is going on at a book publishing company. It gives us an idea how much effort it takes to create and publish a book and what actually happens when they don’t sell. I’m not a big reader but this drama entices people like me to read more for the reason that there is always something to learn about.

I love how they made the Gyeoroo office. It looks really lovely like a mini library. I think all bookworms would love to work in that office. The office atmosphere looked as warm and competent like the design itself.

The characters that made up the publishing firm are very well thought. Something to learn for us who don’t have an idea about this kind of world. I just thought the founders of Gyeoroo looked so cool in trenchcoats! I loved the big boss, the marketing lady director, the young, handsome chief editor, the newly divorced couple, and even the annoying newbie, Ji Hyul grows on you towards the end.

I love that they also tackle the topic about women who are going back to work after a couple of years of raising a family and just don’t stand a chance in getting hired especially in marketing and advertising industries. It’s the sad the truth. But then the drama kinds of ask the business world to think twice of these women who are willing to get back to working and how they could still be as competitive as the younger ones.

There’s so much book passion in this drama. The passion to write a book (authors), the passion to publish a book (publishers) and the passion to read one (readers). Once can really learn regardless of what it is you are going to be passionate about.

The side story of the famous author, Kang Byung Jun was I think a lovely addition and gave the drama a bittersweet ending. The mystery of the title “April 23”, on how it came to be was heartbreaking and the same time a comfort to the son whom the author had left behind. This part is a definite tearjerker!

The couples…

Eun Ho and Dan Yi – cute, noona romance but lacking chemistry.

Hae Rin and Seo Joon – I loved the looming romance. Song Hae Rin was just adorable!

Kim Jae Min and Ko Yoo Sun – the button romance was hilarious! Romance also exists between top bosses ya know.

Ending and Epilogue. Everyone seemed happy in the end especially after making their romances official.

Dislikes: I was really waiting for that chemistry between Eun Ho And Dan Yi but unfortunately, there was too little of it to be excited about. This must be the first Lee Jong Suk drama where I found him less desirable.

Loaded with obvious ad placement. Hello Didier Dubot, Summa Essence and Subway?

My Rating: 7 stars! (10 as highest)

What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim

what's wrong with secretary kim kdramaSummary: Secretary Kim, the very capable secretary of 9 years of the quite handsome but full of himself vice chairman Lee Young Joon is quitting and leaving the very handsome boss frustrated. She has 2 months to train her replacement and convince her boss to let go of her so she can finally find what she likes doing most.

Trailer: What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim

Genre: Romantic ComedyOffice, Rich Boy Poor Girl, Boss Romance, Chaebol
Episodes: 16
Stars: Park Seo Joon as Lee Young Joon
Park Min Young as Kim Mi So
Lee Tae Hwan as Lee Sung Yun

Likes: One of the dramas I was crazily waiting every week. Once in a while (if kdrama world allows it), I like to indulge myself into something eye candy -iesh with lots of cheese in it then topped with lots of laughing (sometimes crying) emojis!  Why I like this one so much? Let me enumerate…

The LEADS! They are definitely my top reason. Even more than the story.

Park Seo Joon as Lee Young Joon – he looked so gorgeous and sexy here! This got to be my favourite Park Seo Joon’s role so far. Super eye candy – tall, handsome and dashing in every outfit. I must say, “AURA”! I love the cocky and narcissist character which made him always look perfect plus that determination that he would get everything that he wanted. He was by all means right at the end when he said, “You have this most eligible bachelor taken, thanks for getting me sold out”! Park Seo Joon’s hot bud is probably driving everyone nuts now! The director knows how to tease you girls. Look, how many scenes were there when you see him topless, gosh! Even that first night scene, he was the only one stripping! Oh well, when you have it, flaunt it, they say :).

Park Min Young as Kim Mi So – she is a doll! I mean how tiny is she to fit in those small-waisted office pencil skirts?! Kim Mi So character has to fit the perfect look of her boss so she had to look perfect as well. But damn, how perfect she really looked! Pretty face with proportional body and she rocked every office outfit she wore. Park Min Young is one top actress and this role was a break from her usual serious roles in the past. She always connects with her leading men and with Park Seo Joon, the chemistry is just so good.

The STORY! Well, it was this typical office romance or rich guy / poor girl kind of story but there was this semi dark twist to it which I really like. I think without it, it would have been quite boring. I like the flashbacks, the story that brought the two top characters to the present. I even like the child actors, they were quite good! It was well told which made the bond of the top characters more understandable. That, in combination with the rest, made it a really fun drama to watch.

Other small mentionable reasons:

  •  So generous with kissing scenes! I will never complain about this and with our hot, sexy, gorgeous top leads, I couldn’t have enough.
  • With a 16-episode office romance drama, I’m glad they didn’t stick to filming inside the office all the time. Pretty good variations when it comes to set.
  • I’ve got to give credit to the stylists and makeup artists. The outfits  and makeup were top and I’m not just talking about the top leads’ but everyone. Everyone looked great! And if you need business attire ideas, watch this drama.
  • Extra love teams! To get the focus away from the main characters, we had three extra love teams and I think these two extra teams were ice breakers!
  • Love the cars! Hot leads, hot cars of course! It’s a Maserati overload!
  • I love this non stop caramel promotion! I’ll try to make them myself. Soon!
  • Kdrama fans would know this… Lee Young Joon’s glass house is the same Kim Joo Won’s house (Hyun Bin) in Secret Garden. Hm, memories. Definitely, place fitting a chaebol!
  • Mi So’s rocker dad, I think he was funny :).
  • If you love the OST like I do: What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim OST.
  • This drama is big in picture perfect background. Referring to the big events at the very end. Lovely water backgrounds!
  • To those who are suckers for good ending like me, this one’s a BIG one for us!

Dislikes:  Brother wasn’t much of a competition. Handsome, yes, but lacking personality to compete with awesome Lee Young Joon!

That intimate moment when only the guy was undressing. Although I don’t complain about Park Seo Joon’s hot topless bud, it looked so awkward ;).

My Rating: 8.5 stars! (10 as highest)
