Moorim School

moorim school kdramaSummary: Moorim school is not an ordinary school. It’s hidden and protected by a seal in the depth of the forest so not just everyone could enter. But one day, someone broke the seal and the person who was deemed responsible is a famous idol seeking to cure himself from a physical suffering. He then meets other students and developed a close relationship to them.

Likes: Having a teenie, action and school drama in one is definitely new and I enjoyed it a lot. I love the school setting, reminds me of my school days and it reminds me well of one of my favorite school dramas, Boys Over Flowers. Not only that, they even use the same place (as seen in BOF) as the entrance hall of the school. I also like the choice of the leading cast. They’re all good-looking (your typical crushes in highschool, definitely!) and tough (convincingly able to fight)!

Lee Hyun Woo as Yoon Shi Woo – he was a total hottie and a G-dragon deadringer! He totally nailed the idol look. Loved his blonde haircolor in the first few episodes. He was the absolute highschool crush.

Hong Bin as Wang Chi Ang – this idol (in real life) wasn’t bad at all though there were moments when his face looked too frozen. His character was funny and he pulled that off pretty well. I don’t wonder why he was half-naked a lot, he definitely had the body to show off.

Seo Ye Ji as Sim Soon Duk – I loved her already in a previous drama but my first time to see her as the leading lady. Pretty like Arielle (the mermaid) and also simple like her character Soon Duk.

Jung Yoo Jin as Hwang Sun Ah – she’s got to be my favorite. Her beauty is cool and her acting has improved a lot. Action drama could just be the right genre for her.

This drama features a very beautiful birch tree forest as pictured above. Something to see when you’re in Korea.

Love the OST, Alive – powerful and catchy and just realized it’s by VIXX! Aja boys!

Lots of foreigners who could speak perfect Korean in this drama. Just impressive.

Cute  and cool scenes like the scooter ride, dressed-up party exam, Soon Duk saving Wang Chiang in the sea hence her nickname Arielle, Yoon Shi Woo and Wang Chiang fights and the Moorim peak challenge.

The best-looking of them all is of course the dean! He always looked good in his suits, even in winter coats.

I loved the first kiss! Shi Woo made the girl’s knee absolutely weak!

Dislikes: I was disappointed to see Shi Woo’s hair turned black. I know it was necessary for the change of character but I had a big crush on the blonde idol wahhh!

Too much drama and face offs in the last episodes. It became a bit draggy towards the end. Thankfully, the drama had only 16 episodes.

They pulled off a Kungfu Panda ending. “There’s no secret ingredient” kind of ending.

My Rating: 8 stars! (10 as highest)
