Kang Mi Na as Han Ae Jin

Likes:  I always say, I learned a lot from kdramas, in fact, I still do. Honestly, I didn’t have any idea what moonshine mean 🤔. Well, it sounded very romantic. You know Moonshine, sounds very close to The Moon that Embraces the Sun, Moon Lover – Scarlet Heart or Moonlight Drawn by Clouds 😊. And they’re all period romance dramas too! To my surprise, it means “smuggled alcohol”. There you go, another lesson learnt from my favourite vice of all times, watching kdramas! Who says, you don’t learn a thing from it, I learnt tons! Anyway, Moonshine wasn’t all about alcohol (although, there was a lot of emphasis on how sweet it tastes), there was also romance, comedy, some detective work and of course, the complex politics. It was just like a cocktail!

Very colourful too! The costumes and props were popping in colours!. I love the beautiful Hanboks, the romantic lanterns and the never-ending spring blossoms everywhere (although sometimes they already appear too fake).

Our main leads chemistry wasn’t that strong but I love both actors…

Yoo Seung Ho as Nam Young – his eyes are always very charismatic, and he’s acting is always good. Here, as an upright civil servant, he appeared so cute instead of scary.

Hye Ri as Kang Ro Seo – I love Hye Ri’s simple look. I think it suited Kang Ro Seo’s character a lot. Hye Ri’s Joseon accent is commendable. She really sounded like from an old era.

Our supporting leads are cute!

Byun Woo Suk as Lee Pyo – this guy is just sooo handsome! He sort of upstaged Yoo Seung Ho from the looks department. And he was the crown prince!

Kang Mi Na as Han Ae Jin – she was just too cute! Love the character too… bold, brave and tenacious! Very admirable! No wonder the prince fell for her in the end.

There were other notable characters in the drama like Sim Heon, the merchant and Woon Sim, the gisaeng and their tragic love story. Of course, our two powerful villains, the Chief Royal Secretary and the Chief State Councilor. Our comedic reliefs, Gye Ssssang Mok and Hwang So Yoo. And I also love the young queen, who despite the age, showed maturity, wisdom and courage.

Dislikes: The story was draggy. I got really so bored. And the ending was quite cheesy too.

They tried to have some mysteries going on but they were too vague. Solving those mysteries was merely lucky guesses.

My Rating: 7.5 stars! (10 as highest)

Likes: I soooo love this drama for so many cute reasons which will be enumerated later below :). Main thing… it’s the first drama this year that made me sooo happy, excited and in love! If these three reasons are present especially the last one, I normally don’t see any flaw. It’s what everybody calls,  “blinded by love”,  lol!

Yes, I love everything!!! From the…

Top Leads – the chemistry between our 2 top leads is insurmountable. From the start to finish, it was overwhelming! I love Yoo Seung Ho’s acting. He’s not just a pretty face but he knows his craft so well. He’s all emotions and I always got carried away by his acting, haha! I also couldn’t ignore how handsome he was in this drama. Gone are the days when he was all cute. He now turned into a very handsome leading man. As to our girl, Chae Soo Bin, I love her bubbly character here. She never overdid her acting which normally turns out annoying with some. She was a perfect match with Yoo Seung Ho. Just love both of them!

The kissing scenes – the greatest kissing scenes are from those who had a really good chemistry and our top couple had it so expect these scenes to send you to the moon :)! What I love most is the generosity to produce more than two top kissing scenes in one drama. Oh, I enjoyed them all! My favourite, of course, was the kitchen kiss! It was also the longest ;).

The umbrella – it was the most important prop! It was important for him and for her… and later for both. It was part of their love story. This prop made it till the last scene. Can someone tell me where I can buy one?

The heart lamps – not as important as the umbrella and I actually didn’t see how it would replace SMS, emails… but I thought they were really cute and they somehow match the cheesiness of the story :).

The heart books – so corny of Aji 3 but couldn’t help but love it too! This was the heart Aji 3 / Jo Ji Ah made by rearranging the books on the bookshelf so they would look like a big heart. Awww!

My favourite quotes – “This is the perfect moment when you kiss.” – Aji 3 “My heart is itchy, it’s about to sprout!” – Kim Min Kyu. Sooo cheesy but loved them all!

The rest of the cast – everyone was good and funny and I specially loved it that additional love teams were created. It was great seeing the professor finally started noticing Pie. Sun Hye, Ji Ah’s bestfriend was interested with Ssan Ip. Even Ri El showed a probability dating Hyoo Chul.

Sun Hye, the dating expert – I love her! She was funny, an additional icing to the already delicious cake.

The Winter Wonderland – I don’t like cold but I couldn’t help liking Kim Mim Kyu’s place turned into a winter wonderland. The snow-covered garden with those properly-groomed trees and bushes looked so amazingly beautiful and romantic.

Some tiny references – Was Kim Min Kyu’s house, the popular Go Jun Pyo’s house in BOF? And I couldn’t help noticing the W kissing scene on TV!

Epilogue – that “2-year-later” epilogue is a big bonus for a 16-episode drama! I love epilogues, though short but they tell more.

And the ending – well, couldn’t ask for more satisfying ending. It was well-done and most importantly, it made me so happy!

Dislikes: I was so in love, no dislikes or whatsoever, lol!

My Rating: 9 stars! (10 as highest)

I Miss You

Summary: A story of a young love i miss you kdramathat blossomed between 2 teenagers who got separated by ugly circumstances. After 14 years, they meet again and while mysteries of the past are being solved, people around them are getting involved and hurt.

Genre: Romance, Melodrama
Episodes: 21
Stars: Yoon Eun Hye as Lee Su Yeon
Kim So Hyun as young Lee Su Yeon
Park Yoochun as Han Jung Woo
Yeo Jin Goo as young Han Jung Woo
Yoo Seung Ho as Kang Hyung Joon
Ahn Do Gyu as young Kang Hyung Joon

Likes: 3 of my favorites korean actors are here: YEH, Yoochun, Yoo Seung Ho!

I love the beginning… the introduction of the characters, the details and the superb acting of the child actors! It was very sincere. I could fell the sadness and the pain.

That kissing scene on the road! It was just beautiful! It wasn’t relevant though. I don’t know why they were in the middle of the road. Anyway, it was beautiful!

The wedding scene! It was a bit cheesy but well I’m a sucker for wedding scenes!

The ending! Somehow I expected this scene to happen. We go back to the time when they were young and Han Jung Woo returned the yellow umbrella and yes his young uncle was with him, even introduced him to Su Yeon. If everything went like that in the past, there wouldn’t have been suffering and pain, everyone would have been happy. But well, we won’t have this drama either :).

Dislikes: It was just bad story telling. I was so bored because there was barely nothing I don’t know. Please reveal the secrets like bombs!

Why’s everyone could just enter that huge house of Harry Borrison. The giant gate and the secret room just made no sense.

Yoochun oppa, the character Crazy Rabbit is not just for you! Please say no next time.

Talking of Crazy Rabbit character, why was it not introduced properly like you know show how great he is in solving cases and catching criminals. Just a short scene with actions and everything so we, the viewers have better understanding why other characters talk highly of Crazy Rabbit. What I remember when Crazy Rabbit appeared for the first time, he was drunk and singing out of tune in a karaoke bar! Total Fail.

Keeping the character of Kang Hyung Joon’s mom almost to the end without an effect to the story was just a waste. I expected she would still be relevant. Also the character of Kim Eun Jo, the daughter of Detective Kim who died earlier in the story, I thought there was still something from her character since I saw her as one of the leading actors as shown in the promotional photos.

And yeah, Han Tae Jun, father of Han Jung Woo, supposed to be the root of all evil here, what was that stupid move in the end, kidnapping Su Yeon that just got you imprisoned. Ah frustrating. And not to forget, the actor playing Han Tae Jun was just lacking some acting skills, sorry. Not scary and villain enough.

My Rating: 7 stars! (10 as highest)
