I think I can blame Lee Min Ho for my kdrama addiction as it was Boys Over Flowers that lead me to the amazing world of korean drama. Since then, I watched almost all, not all but almost all, his drama to date. Here’s my list…
The King: Eternal Monarch – rated 8 stars
together with Kim Go Eun
Lee Min Ho’s comeback drama from the military was a comeback fit for the king of Korean drama. A very intriguing time-travel drama where he was the monarch of a fantasy kingdom who was able to get across parallel universes and in one particular universe, he found the love of his life.
Seven First Kisses – rated 7 stars
together with Lee Cho Hee
It was more of a commercial than a drama actually but I watched it anyway. How could I miss all these handsome faces in one show! Lee Min Ho was of course the most important here. At least, that’s what I think.
The Legend of the Blue Sea – rated 8.5 stars
together with Jun Ji Hyun
Such a delight to see two big and shining stars in one kdrama! Lee Min Ho was dashing in his outfits here and Jun Ji Hyun by his side, the two looked like supermodels. I loved this fantasy love story with a beautiful mermaid to fall in love with.
together with Park Shin Hye
Such a great-looking and promising cast, of course lead by Lee Min Ho himself. The story failed to make a great impact but you can’t miss a drama with an amazing cast like this.
My first sageuk with Lee Min Ho in it. I love the story, even how it ended but the chemistry was quite poor. But it was okay as I was more smitten with the old world our handsome general was living in. I was also intrigued by the time-travel part of the drama.
City Hunter – rated 8.5 stars
together with Park Min Young
A follow up drama after BOF was this fantastic action/romance drama with the pretty Park Min Young. Lee Min Ho’s chemistry with her was so good, they were even rumored to be dating after this.
Boys Over Flowers – rated 9 stars
together with Koo Hye Sun
As I have said, this was my gateway to the kdrama world and it was the drama that made Lee Min Ho a hallyu star. His role Goo Joon Pyo, a young troublemaker chaebol with of course a very handsome face swept off, not just Jandi, but everyone’s feet.
